This intern will assist within the Women’s Empowerment Program to increase income for refugee women by helping to launch and maintain an online store on Etsy to increase year-round sales opportunities. The intern will develop a best practices manual for optimizing listings for search engine recognition, create and update listings, package and ship orders, inventory new products, and assist with other projects as needed.
Position Duties:
● Help to launch and maintain an Etsy Store
● Develop and update product listings
● Develop and implement search engine optimization best practices
● Create a search engine optimization best practices manual for use by volunteers and staff
● Package and ship orders
● Prepare inventory for special sales events
o Use the Microsoft Access Database to enter new inventory items and switch inventory between sites
o Tag new inventory items
o Prepare inventory for delivery to sales site
● May assist with other programs within Women’s Empowerment as necessary
Required Skills:
● Dedicated volunteer interested in learning about Women’s Empowerment programming
● Strong computer skills with experience in or willingness to learn search engine optimization
● Effective communication skills
● Basic math skills
● Ability to work with people from different cultures with minimal English skills
● Flexible and patient amid stressful situations
