There are up to 300 kids coming to visit the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery daily during the spring school semester. The Museum is seeking enthusiastic and dependable volunteers who can welcome a school group and their chaperones, briefly orient groups to the museum, navigate the group through their museum itinerary, and help them have a positive museum experience.
Shifts are about 3 hours and happen between 8:30 - 1:00. Ideally, volunteers would do one shift per week.
A successful group host is amiable, enthusiastic, and comfortable speaking in front of large groups of school groups of all ages. Hosts are expected to be positive, flexible, problem solvers, solution-oriented, and willing to help out with the group as needed. It is essential that you be prompt and dependable for your shift. Previous experience working with school groups, children, customer service experience and/or experience assisting with public events, organization outreach, or previous volunteering is helpful.
