Volunteers needed for hospice patient and family care

Pathways

  • 1 person is interested

  • Companionship - generally a once-per-week friendly visit. Volunteers might read to the patient, share a meal, go for a walk or an outing or simply sit quietly and hold their hand.
  • Caregiver Relief - volunteers stay with a patient and give caregivers a sometimes much needed break to run errands, go to a doctor’s appointment or simply take some very important self-care time. Sometimes these are companionship visits with the patient and other times volunteers are asked to bring a book or knitting as they may be sitting quietly in the other room.
  • Household Support - sometimes the difference for our patient’s between being able to stay in their own home or not depends on their ability to maintain simple household upkeep. Our volunteers often provide light housecleaning, help with laundry, or light outside yard maintenance.

Opportunities exist both in Larimer, as well as in Weld counties.
