We have 2 different volunteer opportunities in our ESOL program:
Volunteer ESOL Tutor
In this volunteer role, you would be a tutor for our adult students in our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. We have 4 levels of classes, and students generally need additional support on homework, pronunciation, reading, and writing. Students bring materials to work on with the tutor. Tutoring hours are generally from 12:00pm - 1:00pm and the days can be flexible. We request a minimum commitment of 1 hour per week.
Volunteer ESOL Classroom Assistant:
In this volunteer role, you would be a classroom assistant in our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes for adult learners. The classes meet from Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm. Under the direction of the instructor, you would support the class activities, work individually with students who need help, and help with small-group exercises. We request a minimum commitment of 3 hours per week, but days and time-slot are flexible.
