At Grace Hospice our volunteers help us to provide the support, respect and care that our bereaved families need. We provide 13 months of bereavement services to support our patients' families and caregivers after a patient's death. The goals are (1) to facilitate a normal grieving process and adjustment to loss, and (2) to identify and appropriately refer those persons experiencing complicated grief reactions which may interfere with the eventual resolution and integration of their loss.
We are in need of bereavement volunteers to assist with phone calls and administrative work under the guidance of our Bereavement Coordinator. This person should be qualified in the area of grief / loss through the demonstration of specific training and / or employment experience.
Grace Hospice provides specific training for bereavement volunteers. While the volunteer hours are flexible, a minimum one-year commitment to the program is essential.
If you are able to give a couple hours of time per week please contact us today! Visit our website at www.ghospice.com to familiarize yourself with our organization and start the application process.

Mission Statement
For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of day, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing
Description
Hospice care is not just for the patient. It also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end state of life. Our program is for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. Our philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. Our goal is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. We also serve patients who are living in long-term and assisted living facilities.
