Greetings Future Interns!
Companion Hospice is looking for a qualified Administrative Assistant Interns for our Downey office.
This individual will be responsible for assisting the administrative staff with clerical duties as well as field assignments. Interns will be assigned to projects and assist heavily with the Area Volunteer Manager. This position would be ideal for college students with a degree or in school in the medical field: Medical Assistant, RN, Chha, LVN, Social workers, Psych majors, communications, healthcare administration, etc.
Responsibilities include:
-Filing and organizing office space
-Audit medical records
-Medical supply inventory
-Electronic medical record keeping and audit
-Occasional coffee and lunch runs
-Outgoing mailing and bereavement mailing letters
-Performance survey calls
-Answer incoming phone calls
-Assist with new projects with the Area Volunteer Manager
-Occasional patient visitation days for quality assurance
-Work closely with clinical staff members

Requirements:

We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.
Description
Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
