ORGANIZATION: Hospice of the Miami Valley

Do you enjoy being on the road? Do you love spending time in the car listening to the radio? Hospice of the Miami Valley is seeking a volunteer courier to transport documents and supplies from our office in Troy to our office in Xenia once a week. Although direct patient interaction is not a requirement of this position, you will be providing a valuable service. Utilizing a courier volunteer allows our clinical and administrative staff to continuously provide comfort care to individuals facing a terminal illness.

Volunteers are an important part of the Hospice team. Courier volunteers for HOMV offer a valuable service to our clinical and administrative staff who dedicate their time to care for patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

This position offers flexibility in time commitment and schedule, so you can volunteer on your terms. Our Volunteer Coordinator will provide specialized training and will walk with you every step of the way. You will be supported in your role by a competent and caring group of nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and fellow volunteers.

Volunteers will report to our office in Troy. Volunteers are needed in communities within Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby counties.

If you'd like to become a caring presence to those in need, please call Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Davis at 937-674-9079 or email davisr@homv.org.
