Bedside Crafts - Hospice Volunteer
Are you crafty? Do you know how to knit, crochet, sew, or embroider? Hospice of the Miami Valley is seeking friendly visitor volunteers who can sit bedside and create crafts with our patients. Knitting scarves, crocheting hats, sewing blankets, or embroidering pillows are just a few examples of crafting that our patients will enjoy and appreciate.
Volunteers are an important part of the Hospice team. Friendly visitor volunteers for HOMV offer support, companionship, and practical, caring help to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness. The help and support that our volunteers give is returned to them in countless ways.
This position offers flexibility in time commitment and schedule, so you can volunteer as little or as much as you like. Our Volunteer Coordinator will provide specialized training and will walk with you every step of the way. Volunteers may choose to visit patients in their homes or at public health care facilities. You will be supported in your role by a competent and caring group of nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and fellow volunteers. All supplies will be provided by Hospice.
Volunteers will report to our office in Troy. Volunteers are needed in communities within Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby counties.
If you'd like to become a caring presence to those in need, please call Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Davis at 937-674-9079 or email email@example.com.
