God’s Love is the tri-state area's leading provider of nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. It’s the only agency of its kind in New York, preparing every nutritious meal by hand and delivering them right to our clients’ doorsteps every day.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING:We rely on volunteers to do all the cutting, chopping and trimming, ensuring that there’s a real human being behind each meal.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:Kitchen dress code is very important to ensure the safety of our volunteers as well as preserve the quality of the food. Clothing must completely cover shoulders, underarms, knees and toes. Long sleeves must be pushed above your elbows while working with food. Hair must be completely covered, including ponytails and bangs. Hairnets are provided, though you are welcome to bring a hat. No bracelets, watches or dangly earrings can be worn.

GOD'S LOVE WE DELIVER:Gods Love We Deliver is the New York metropolitan areas leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today Gods Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. Gods Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a clients severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. Gods Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of its clients. All of the agencys services are provided free of charge, and in its history of more than 25 years, Gods Love We Deliver has never had a waiting list. One Brick creates a community of volunteers by offering fun opportunities for individuals to serve local nonprofits. We provide a calendar of volunteer and social events to help people get involved, have an impact, and have fun, without the requirements of long term commitments.
Description
One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (Federal ID: 77-0593889) that is a community of volunteers that support other local nonprofits by creating a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering. After each volunteer event our volunteer team invites everyone to gather at a local restaurant or coffee shop where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting. Additionally we host regular social events for our volunteers to connect to one another and to welcome new volunteers to our community.
We provide a flexible way for you to volunteer where and when you want.
The Impact of One BrickOne Brick currently operates in eight chapters nationwide: San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Boston, and National.
The One Brick model has been hugely successful! Since we started, One Brick volunteers have contributed 630,000 hours to the communities we serve.
What makes us special is that One Brick chapters are 100% volunteer-run! We have no chapter based employees... we don't even maintain offices! In fact, on a national level, One Brick has only one employee.
But we DO have a lot of dedicated volunteers who make it all happen. And we're always looking for more people like YOU to join us!
