Papago Park is a diverse desert park! Greet, inform, and educate visitors about the recreation opportunities, rich history, plants and animals who live in the park, and more! The visitor center is open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There are ongoing and occasional opportunities to help:
Ongoing - Phoenix Park Steward Program - Parks Stewards staff the visitor center weekly, in two hour shifts, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Volunteers sign up for shifts based on their availability. Park Stewards will complete an application, general park steward orientation, and Papago Visitor Center training to help prepare them for questions they may receive. Occasional -- Corporate or Community Groups - A great opportunity for a corporate team or community group to volunteer at the Papago Visitor Center for an afternoon. A Park Ranger or Park Steward will provide the group with an orientation before they volunteer. Groups may choose to focus on sharing a specific educational message, like Leave No Trace, Take a Hike. Do it Right., history, flora & fauna, park history, hike to Hole-in-a-Rock, and more! Or the group may focus on general information about the park. We would love to work with your team, scout troop, club, or community group!
