Social Media Coordinator - Patient & Community Outreach
At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.
Product information The Patient Access Department works to help patients navigate their cancer treatment and ensures they have access to quality, affordable and coordinated care.
Purpose Collaborate with national and local social media teams to insert mission related social media posts.
Position Tasks
- create content and add to social media calendar
- ensure we have consistent messaging across patient & community outreach programs
- keep post updated and timely with new information
Desired Skills
Volunteer should possess the following skills/qualifications:
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new software
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Attention to detail
Location
Completely remote.
Time Commitment
3 to 4 hours a month, but an opportunity for more available.
Background check required Yes
Training
LLS will provide the volunteer with an orientation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society including an overview of the organization and the Patient Access Department. Patient Access team will also train on basic Salesforce data entry process and procedure.

When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
Description
Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer. In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter serves the residents of the state of Connecticut as well as the Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess & Putnam counties of New York.
