Help The Lord's Place mission: breaking the cycle of homelessness in Palm Beach County, by serving as a volunteer at Joshua Thrift Store. This is a fun environment. Duties include sorting, recycling, pricing and displaying items, customer service and general cleaning. Shifts are half-day and full-day. Volunteers have a choice of working at one of our twoJoshua Thrift Stores ,7600 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach) or Joshua Thrift Store, 905 U.S. Highway 1, Lake Park, FL. We also need help at our Processing Center, 750 S. Military Trail, Suite A, West Palm Beach. Please SPECIFY which location you'd like to serve. Thanks!

3 Shifts

  • 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM
    Four volunteers per shift PER location.
  • 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM
    Four volunteers per shift per location.
  • 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM
    On Saturdays, the last shift of the day is Noon to 4 p.m.,

Our supportive housing model gives our clients the time that they need in a stable, safe environment to address the issues that led to their homelessness.

Job Training & Placement

Our Job Training and Placement Program addresses the need for homeless men and women to regain economic self-sufficiency. The program assists clients in finding and maintaining employment by offering job training, placement and education programs.

Social Enterprise:

Our Social Enterprise businesses - the Cafe Joshua kitchen and our Joshua Thrift Stores - allow us not only the opportunity to hire as many of our own clients as we can, but it affords our clients the opportunity to develop their hard and soft work skills in a supportive environment.
