Metro Theater Company is seeking volunteer ushers for Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure on December 21st at 7pm. As an usher for the show, you would arrive to the Grandel Theater at 6pm to assist with ticket scanning, playbill distribution, and directing people to their specific seats. Here’s a bit about the event:

Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure isadapted from Lewis Carrol's story. How can you march to the beat of your own drummer when you’re still writing the song? Part theater, part rock concert, all of your favorite characters are here in this new take on Lewis Carroll’s beloved, poetic tale of self-actualization. A cast of actors/musicians plays an eclectic mix of everything from classic rock to ska to punk as 7-1/2-year-old Alice chases through Wonderland in search of her own inner musical voice.

Metro Theater Company’s plays are for people of all ages and capacities. They offer weekend public performances but also work with schools to bring students in by bus during selected weekdays to foster learning through this exciting arts approach. Before and after the student shows, Metro Theater Company offers Educator Guides for teachers, and after the performances, the teaching artists visit the schools for further dialogue with students on the important conversations that emerge from the plays.

Please e-mail me at Lowell@metroplays.org if you are interested. We'll have performances until Dec 30th!

VALUES

Because we respect the intelligence and emotional wisdom of young people, we produce theater that touches the heart, delights the senses, and stimulates the mind.

Because we believe young people deserve the finest art we can create for them, we honor and support the professional artists who do the work of our mission.

Because we appreciate how the arts celebrate our differences and cultivate common ground, we create a welcoming environment for all people in all our work.

Because we understand that learning through the arts inspires joy, opens doors to self-discovery, and builds bridges to lifelong learning, we design and teach educational programs for young people and adults.

Because we believe all young people deserve access to the arts, we take our programs to diverse settings throughout the St. Louis region.

Because we choose to remain focused on our mission and purpose, we forge partnerships with schools, organizations, and institutions to serve our community effectively.
