Aging Matters - Respite Buddy

Down Syndrome Network of Arizona is hosting its annual Aging Matters: Growing Older with Down Syndrome Conference at the Mesa Convention Center on Jan 12th, 2019. This year, we will be co-hosting a respite program for teens and adults with Down syndrome so that their parents can attend this event. The respite program will be supported by volunteers, who will be providing event supports and peer mentoring. Volunteers will help us make sure that the participants are engaged, excited, participating, and that they stay safe. Activities are scheduled all day - including yoga, zumba, arts and crafts, shows, a movie, and so much more. Lunch and snacks are included. This is a wonderful opportunity to directly volunteer with individuals with Down syndrome as a peer mentors.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate. Volunteers who are 16+ may participate with a parent/guardian. No experience necessary - CPR/First Aid/Fingerprint clearance preferred.
