Literacy is a family affair so we offer Parent Academy. This program benefits parents who want to be more engaged in their children's education and improve the family's ability to thrive in today's society. Volunteers present workshops in financial literacy, health literacy, or other topics to parents and other caregivers. These workshops are hosted by various schools in the the area.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Lee County Literacy Coalition is to help adults learn to read, write, and use mathematics at a level necessary to succeed and thrive in society.
Description
Learners are matched with volunteer tutors. The pairs meet in public locations such as public libraries, churches. Appropriate instructional materials are provided free of charge. Our learners' goals vary from learning to read to passing the GED. Volunteers are also needed for the workshops we offer to adults in our community.
