American Red Cross - Texas Gulf Coast Region

Assist Red Cross in delivering mission by preventing and alleviating human suffering caused by disasters. Evaluate needs, provide services and maintain records for clients. When client recovery needs are not met through personal, community and government resources, ARC will work to address remaining needs.

Key Responsibilities

Casework Activities May Include:

  • Conducting Initial Client Interviews; opening cases
  • Assessing qualifications for Direct Client Assistance
  • Follow-up Casework to guide clients through the next stages of recovery
  • Assisting with disaster recovery problem solving
  • Providing information and referrals to other community organizations
  • Documenting assistance you provide, using computer client records

Your work may provide clients with:

  • Assistance with disaster recovery problem solving
  • Providing information and referrals to other community organizations
  • Communicating with team about availability and readiness on a regular basis
  • Applying policies, regulations, and procedures learned in training
  • Submitting appropriate, accurate, and timely case records

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the American Red Cross
  • Be kind, caring, resourceful, knowledgeable
  • Demonstrate interest in learning about community resource organizations
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well in stressful situations and in a team-oriented setting

Length of Appointment
  • Once trained, may remain active as long as required training is updated.
  • Continued participation and leadership will be evaluated and renewed yearly based on performance
