Dance/NYC is pleased to work in alliance with Dance/USA in the 2019 Dance/USA Dance Forum.
As part of the APAP|NYC pre-conference, the annual Dance/USA Dance Forum brings together a wide variety of individuals working in the dance industry to connect with peers and discuss immediate, field-wide issues. The Forum takes place each January as a pre-conference event during the Association of Performing Arts Professionals conference in New York City. Past topics have covered national trends in funding, the myths, and realities of touring, success stories for inspiring audiences and presenting dance, and more recently, in 2018, community and place-based work.
During the Dance Forum, Dance/USA also provides updates on upcoming programs, new research initiatives, membership, and more. The Dance Forum is free and open to the entire dance community; registration is not required. Both disabled and nondisabled people are encouraged to participate and volunteer at for this event. Dance/NYC is committed to making its volunteer program accessible to disabled people and able to host volunteer events and training in accessible spaces outside of Dance/NYC's office with advance notice.
Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. - 1: 00 p.m. Please email Aminata Dansoko at volunteer@dance.nyc to register to volunteer for this event.
