Are you a certified pet therapists? We are in need of volunteers who can offer time to our patients throughout San Diego County.

Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of our interdisciplinary team at Advantage Hospice, working with our staff to meet the needs of our patients and their families.

Pet Therapy Volunteers provide support in many ways, with the help of their furry friends: to enhance the patient's quality of life, provide support and companionship through individual and group visits, and even provide bereavement support to the family after a patient passes.

Every hospice volunteer has something special and significant to contribute, and we welcome and encourage new ideas. Please reach out if you think this sounds like you so we can provide more information!

Description

The focus of Hospice relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.

Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and in most cases care is provided in the person’s home.

Hospice care also is provided in freestanding hospice centers, hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.

Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness.

Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medi-Cal, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations.
