Community Based Mentoring : Volunteers are matched with a child to be that kiddo's mentor and friend. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the child two to four times each month. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and the match relationship, providing assistance, counsel and guidance.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and be able to pass an extensive background check. There is also an thorough interview portion within the enrollment process.
This is our traditional mentoring program for which Big Brothers Big Sisters is best and most known for.
*Presently, BBBS Pikes Peak is in need of men to volunteer as Big Brothers to youth in our community. We continually receive inquiries and referrals for kids in Colorado Springs to enroll as Little Brothers, seeking a positive male role model. These kids typically do not have a father or positive male example in their lives. Please consider volunteering today to make a difference in the life and future of a child!
