SCORE Southwest Florida is virtually open for business and stands ready to provide free, confidential business mentoring and online educational offerings and resources to help small businesses in our community respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic and emerge as the economy restarts and recovers.

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to your community while sharing the skills you've developed over a lifetime? SCORE Volunteer business mentors work with small business startups, in-business clients and people with just an idea to start a business. We offer free mentoring in all aspects of business from estimating startup costs, developing business plans, marketing and sales, accounting and finance, through to exit strategies. Mentors must be good listeners, empathetic, and knowledgeable in a variety of business areas. We’ll give you a coach, train you in our methodology and co-mentor with you as you get to know our clients. Mentoring is virtual (zoom, email or phone) and may be face-to-face as conditions permit. We are also seeking volunteers with strong leadership skills who are willing to lead various chapter teams. Volunteers may also teach online workshops on business topics and/or provide administrative support.

In 2019, SCORE SWFL volunteers delivered 1,516 total services (mentored 377 unique clients with 52% in-business and conducted workshops involving 771 local workshop attendee hours) and supported 27 new business starts and supported the creation of a total 257 non-owner jobs.
