Walk to help end NF!
Walk to help end NF!

The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding critical research that will one day end neurofibromatosis. In addition to benefiting those who live with NF, this research is also shedding new light on several forms of cancer, brain tumors, bone abnormalities, and learning disabilities, ultimately benefiting the broader community.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation also supports people living with NF and their families with accurate, current and readily accessible information, and assists in the development of clinical centers to create better access to quality healthcare.

We are in need of several committee members to join our team of NF Walk Organizers!

The role of the committee member may be:

  • To partner with and support the event chair in planning the event within the community.
  • Help motivate, recruit and retain the participants.
  • Communicate with the event Chair on a regular basis and be proactive in the community promoting the event.
  • Assist with logistics and pre-event planning.
  • Securing donations for a raffle, picnic and fundraising.
  • Recruit and organize event-day volunteers.
  • Assist with event-day activity planning and management and post event wrap up.

Join the CTF Volunteer Team and see what a difference one person can make!

Mission Statement

The Children's Tumor Foundation's mission is to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for the NF community.

Description

Neurofibromatosis, or NF, is a genetic disorder that affects one in every 3,000 people. It can cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, and complications from NF can lead to disfigurement, deafness, blindness, skeletal abnormalities, learning disabilities, malignancies, and debilitating pain. NF affects all populations equally, and there is not yet a cure.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding effective treatments for the millions of people worldwide living with neurofibromatosis (NF), a term for three distinct disorders: NF1, NF2, and schwannomatosis. NF causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and may lead to blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, learning disabilities, disabling pain, and cancer. NF affects 1 in every 3,000 births across all populations equally. There is no cure yet - but the Children’s Tumor Foundation mission of driving research, expanding knowledge, and advancing care for the NF community fosters our vision of one day ending NF.
