Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all BPL Adult Learning groups are meeting virtually on Zoom.
In an effort to help prevent the spread of CIVID-19, we have transitioned all our in-person programming to an online format. Do you want to help an adult who struggles to read or to brush up on their reading, writing, and Math skills through Zoom? Change a life. Become an English Language Arts and Math volunteer tutor!
The New Lots Learning Center at Brooklyn Public Library needs volunteer tutors to work with Adults at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced Adult Basic Education levels. Tutors are needed as soon as possible. Prior experience is not necessary.
Volunteers are asked to lead two-2 hour sessions each week. Summer sessions are from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 10am to 12pm on Monday and Wednesday. Group sizes range from 1 to 6 adult students. Groups meet via Zoom and some levels use Google Classroom to facilitate their groups.
Volunteers will be given a virtual orientation and training by our Training Manager and by our Adult Learning Staff. Materials and support will be provided, if needed,
