We are currently looking for someone who would be willing to volunteer some of their time with events at one of our community Centers. As an event volunteer you would assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, registration (if applicable) and/or clean up. More volunteer opportunities other than events may be available at this location as well.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
Satisfactorily pass criminal history & reference checks;
Must have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality;
Minimum 16 years old.
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move an object

Description
Overview
KWA began in 1972 as a social club for Korean women married to American servicemen at the Fort Lewis Army base and McChord Air Force Base. To battle the feeling of isolation, they came together to begin outreach services to other Koreans in need across Pierce County. Soon the club was providing driving lessons, translation, transportation and assistance to domestic violence victims.
Since then, KWA has expanded services to 11 Western Washington counties, employing 1,200 employees to serve diverse needs for over 150,000 people each year including:
- In-home care
- Immigration and Naturalization
- Health Screenings
- Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Counseling
- Domestic Violence Shelter
- Affordable Housing
