If you enjoy talking and walking this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Volunteers greet and direct guests to different departments of the hospital; Serve as a first contact person as the guest enter the hospital. Utilize Paragon computer system to locate patient’s room number. Verify guests have required facemask and properly worn. Does require you to be on your feet much of the time.

Volunteers at Baton Rouge General are committed to supporting patients and families through compassionate service and care. From offering a warm smile and cheerful "hello" to visitors, to helping someone find the perfect gift for a loved one, to assisting patients and families in Surgery Waiting Area, our volunteers are dedicated to service excellence. Our volunteers are an essential part of our Community of Caring, impacting so many of the General's patients, visitors, friends, doctors, nurses and staff. They provide the little extras that help to create that special experience people have come to know and love at the General.

Description

We are a not for profit hospital which is community owned. Our volunteers have an Auxiliary which returns all profits from fundraisers and the gift shops to the hospital at year-end to purchase medical equipment, security equipment, and interior updates.
