Carolina Wildlife Care rehabilitates sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife patients and returns them to their natural habitat. Founded in 1989, CWC has taken in more than 5,000 animals each year. Volunteers are needed to feed and otherwise care for these amazing wildlife animals. The youngest of these may need to eat as often as every 20 minutes. We are in particular need of volunteers during the warmer months, March through October.
CWC is open 365 days a year. Regular volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Our Junior Volunteer Program (ages 15-18) is available during the summer months.
In addition to animal care supportive activities such as meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping, and cleaning and maintaining animal kennels and enclosures, we are need of volunteers to help with fundraising, landscaping, data entry, and onsite construction and maintenance of pre-release wildlife enclosures.

Mission Statement
The mission of Carolina Wildlife Center is to establish harmony between humans and wildlife in South Carolina while instilling an appreciation for nature. To accomplish this life-saving mission, we provide compassionate care to wildlife affected by natural and human activity: we rescue, rehabilitate, raise, and release sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife; educate our community on how best to coexist with wildlife; and promote a healthy environment through education, outreach, and training.
Description
Carolina Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and release of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife. Our goal is to return healthy wildlife back into its natural environment. CWC provides public education regarding the importance of native wildlife and promotes the preservation of wildlife and its natural habitat in urban sites. At CWC, volunteer support is invaluable. CWC needs volunteers to help assist the staff with many daily tasks regarding that support our animal patients, including meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping, cleaning and maintaining animal kennels and enclosures, rescue and transport, education, special events, and facility upkeep. We also use volunteers to help with other special services like data entry, clerical work, yard work, and fundraising.
