12/15 Urgent Volunteer Need: Red Bridge Recycling Center, flexible shifts
ORGANIZATION: Bridging The Gap
Please visit the new page to apply.
This is a great opportunity for students on holiday break or those last minute service-learning credits!
Help your community and the environment by volunteering at the Red Bridge Community Recycling Center! Recycling preserves forests; keeps oil, natural gas, and minerals in the ground; and prevents air and water pollution. Bridging The Gap’s Community Recycling Centers are essential because they accept items not recycled curbside and provide options to the many people who do not have recycling available at home.
This outdoor volunteer opportunity is great for students wanting service-learning credit, retired folks looking to stay active, and passionate recyclers! Volunteers assist the recycling center site manager with various duties, such as breaking down cardboard, assisting patrons, etc.
We have a special need for volunteers on Saturday December 15, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM or 1:00 - 5:00 PM. If this exact timeframe does not work for you, please let us know; we might be able to offer you a different shift.
The Red Bridge Recycling Center is located at 5200 E. Red Bridge Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137 in the KCATA Park-and-Ride commuter parking lot.
All volunteers must register in advance. Call/text Amy Smith at 816-561-1062 or email volunteer@bridgingthegap.org, mentioning your preferred shift.
