Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 grief organization that provides a safe and fun place for youth ages 5-25 who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or guardian. The free-of-charge programs include confidence-building activities and age-based support that break the emotional isolation grief often brings.

Comfort Zone Camp is honored to partner with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to provide this camp for children and teens who have experienced the loss of a firefighter parent who has died in the line of duty and been honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD.

This three-day program is a strength-based, child-focused model, which includes age-based support groups facilitated by trained grief specialists. Both camp and support groups will facilitate different icebreakers, confidence-building activities and other activities designed to facilitate trust, expression, and interaction among them.

This video is an example of what our camp programs are like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIb-yG9qYAI. Check out the available volunteer roles at http://www.comfortzonecamp.org/volunteers/roles. The first step in becoming a camp volunteer is to attend a volunteer training. Comfort Zone’s volunteer training provides education regarding childhood grief, and prepares volunteers to take part in our camp programs.
