Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 grief organization that provides a safe and fun place for youth ages 5-25 who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or guardian. The free-of-charge programs include confidence-building activities and age-based support that break the emotional isolation grief often brings.
Comfort Zone's 3-day Overnight Young Adult Camp program is designed for young adults 19-25 (18 if no longer in high school) who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or guardian. Young adult participants join peers in a rustic camp retreat setting where discussions and activities are facilitated by a trained grief specialist.
This video is an example of what our camp programs are like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIb-yG9qYAI. Check out the available volunteer roles at http://www.comfortzonecamp.org/volunteers/roles. The first step in becoming a camp volunteer is to attend a volunteer training. Comfort Zone’s volunteer training provides education regarding childhood grief, and prepares volunteers to take part in our camp programs.
Please create an account at www.comfortzonecamp.org and sign up for a training session.
