St. Francis Neighborhood Center has been a staple in the Reservoir Hill community since it got its non-profit status in the early 1960s. We are the oldest youth enrichment center in Baltimore City.
We run many awesome programs, but the largest is Power Project.
Power Project is a community-based after-school program with a focus on academics, enrichment, and service learning. We currently have 3 classrooms. Located at Dorothy I. Height Elementary School.
Group 1: K-2nd grade
Group 2: 3rd-5th grade
Group 3: 6th-8th grade
We are currently looking to fill classroom assistants and tutors. If you are a high school student we would like mature young adults with a willingness to assist. There may be other opportunities outside of the classroom if that is not your interest. Please inquire. We also offer paid internships through YouthWorks during the summer and August through May.

Description
St. Francis Neighborhood Center is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), community based organization in the Reservoir Hill area of Baltimore. Founded in 1963 as an outreach center for two local churches, the Center was incorporated in 1972 as a neighborhood nonprofit corporation, independent of any church affiliation. Since its inception, the Center has served as a cornerstone for community life for residents to meet, discuss, and to improve the quality of individual and communal life in Reservoir Hill. St. Francis' presence has served as a resource and catalyst for improving the lives of those in Reservoir Hill, and making Baltimore a better place.
Our programs create an approach that builds self-esteem, personal strength, academic, emotional, interpersonal, social, and community development that work to address complex challenges in an effort to break through the cycles of urban poverty. St. Francis Neighborhood Center offers Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, personal counseling, community mediation, Peace Patrol walks, Community Library, Computer Lab, pot luck dinners, and an annual Health/Resource Fair. In an average month, we serve over 300 adults, youth, and families. All of our current programs, services, and events are free to the public.
