We need a 12-person crew of RSVP Volunteers, age 55 or greater, to help assemble baby gift baskets for the Operation Bundles 4 Babies Program. Our wonderful RSVP volunteers have donated beautiful handmade blankets, caps and burpee cloths for this special project honoring new parents in the 419th Fighter Wing Air Force Reserves at Hill AFB.

This two-hour event, commemorating MLK Day of Service, is to assemble these into baskets for delivery to military families with newborns right here in Davis County. This is a single evening event, Thursday, January 17th, 5:00-7:00 pm. We will meet in the North Davis Senior Activity Center, 42 S State Street in Clearfield to prepare the gift baskets. Please arrive by 4:45.

We are still in need of TRAVEL SIZE BABY TOILETRIES such as baby lotion, baby shampoo, powder, and baby wash. Please bring your donations to the RSVP office before January 15th, 2019.

This event is limited to 12 volunteers only. Interested volunteers MUST register as a participant prior to the event. Please call Pat at 801-525-5052 to sign up. Volunteer slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers who have not previously enrolled as RSVP members will be required to complete our One-Time Event RSVP Enrollment Form. This service opportunity is only for those age 55 or greater.

About Davis County RSVP

Location:

42 South State Street, Clearfield, UT 84015, US

Mission Statement

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.

Description

Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.

RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.

When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
