Role Description:

The In-Kind Donations Lead helps secure raffle items, recognition items, food, drinks and other donations for Kickoff and walk day, and any additional ACS hosted events throughout the year. The Making Strides In-Kind Donations Lead represents the American Cancer Society in the community, builds relationships, and uses their contacts, influence, and resources to further our lifesaving mission.

Core Responsibilities:

• Contacts past in-kind donors to get their recommitment for food, water, juice, snacks, etc.
• Secures new companies/vendors for additional food & snack donations
• Works with committee leads to ensure ample food and beverages are secured for Walk Day
• Coordinates pick-ups and deliveries of food for Walk Day, which may require recruitment of volunteers
• Ensures food safety and health department policies and procedures are followed
• Ensures donated food is healthy and in line with ACS’ eating well lifestyle
• Helps to secure raffle items, recognition items, food, drink and other donations for additional ACS hosted events throughout the year
• Updates current donors list as new and existing donors are confirmed
• Works with staff partner to recognize all in-kind donors on poster boards within food tent
• Works with other committee members to assist with their needs in specific day of tents

Sends out appropriate thank-you letters to donors

Requirements:

Individuals in this role must be willing to reach out to existing and prospective companies to ask for food and item donations. This individual must be organized and keep track of prior and current year donations, as well as what is still needed to ensure the event(s) is well stocked with food and water.
