MUSEUM OF THE SAN RAMON VALLEY
Like History? Like Education? Like helping students?
Help School groups experience an authentic 1888 school day. Weekdays from January to June an exciting program is held at The Museum of the San Ramon Valley's 1888 Tassajara Grammar School.
Volunteers open the school and prepare for that day's lessons. They supervise parking and safety, help with recess activities and close the school for the day.
Training is provided.
Share your love of history. Volunteer shifts are 8AM to 10:30 and 10:30 to 1PM. You can volunteer for one or both shifts per day. We can use as many shifts or as few as you can give.

The mission of The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is to collect and preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the San Ramon Valley and interpret these objects and stories for the public in exhibitions, programs and research opportunities.
The Museum of the San Ramon Valley currently exists in two historic buildings: a 1891 restored Southern Pacific Railroad depot and a restored 1888 one room school house. Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum's collections date from prehistory to the present and are accessed for exhibition purposes and research by students, authors and the public. The museum mounts about six exhibitions per year which have recently included "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War", "The Art of Survival: The Japanese American Internment Experience During World War Two", "Cowboys and Cattlemen: Ranching in the San Ramon Valley" and "San Ramon 150: The 150 Anniversary of the City of San Ramon". Educational programs accompany each exhibit.
We'll work with your schedule.
