Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies in their own Nevada County area homes. Animals may need to be fostered for weeks or months, but our minimum commitment is 30 days. This time period gives the animal enough time to settle in and lead as normal a life as possible, as their stress levels rise with each new placement.
We do our best to custom match animals to foster homes.
We provide all veterinary care for our foster animals; this includes setting up appointments at one of our partnered veterinary offices, help with animal transport to and from appointments if necessary, and covering the costs of additional medical needs beyond the appointment.
We also are available to help with pet supplies if necessary: food, leash, crate, litter box, litter, puppy pads, etc...
- AGE: The primary caregiver of the foster animal must be at least 18 years old.
- LOCATION: Foster volunteers must be able to get our rescues to and from adoption
- events and the vets office on a regular basis
- HOME CHECK: One of our trained volunteers will come to your house for a 30 minute appointment slot to perform a home check. The check may take less time but we promise not to take more than 30 minutes. If it is determined that issues can be fixed we will address them with you and give you an opportunity to resolve them before placing the animal with someone else.
The Ruff Pack Refuge CANNOT accommodate persons seeking to fulfill court-ordered community service.
We'll work with your schedule.
