Help Effie Yeaw Nature Center Naturalists connect children with Nature! Volunteers assist with set-up, sign-in, science activities, games, hikes and more! Volunteers must enjoy working with kids, be reliable, have transportation to the Nature Center, and love Nature!
This opportunity is ideal for teens, 14 years old and above*.
Spring Camps are held the week of April 6 to April 10, 2020.
There are both morning shifts and afternoon shifts available--8:30am to 12:30pm, 12:30pm to 4:00pm, or you can volunteer for both shifts (and bring a lunch).
Volunteers must dress for the weather--we do not stay inside during our Nature Camps unless it is pouring! Most days it is lovely out and nice to be outside enjoying the wonders of nature.
New Nature Camp Assistants must attend a Safety Training & Orientation, which will be held on two dates:
Wednesday, April 1st from 3:30pm to 4:45pm
Thursday, April 2nd from 3pm to 4:15pm
*Volunteers who are 18 years or older must complete Live Scan background screening through our account. We provide a form with our account information and you can take the form to a Live Scan operator to have your fingerprints taken. We will provide more details on how to have your fingerprinted rolled for the Live Scan to adults who would like to assist with nature camps.
