Assist elementary age youth with fun winter crafts. You will be assigned to one craft station in which you will help instruct youth what to do, as well as assist them with anything they may need. You do not need to be a super crafty person you just basically need to know how to cut and paste for many of the projects. We will be doing things such as cotton ball penguins, popsicle stick Santa and elves, puzzle piece reindeer, fingerprint lights, and much more. There also will be a sugar cookie making station and hot cocoa! The main event is from 5pm-6:30pm on Thursday, Dec 20, 2018. If possible we also would love help with set-up and clean-up!

About MSU Extension 4-H

Location:

121 E. Maple St, Mason, MI 48854, US

Mission Statement

The goal of 4-H is to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach. The 4-H motto is "to make the best better."

Description

4-H is a volunteer-based organization. Without volunteers, there would be no 4-H program. 4-H is the largest youth organization in the world, with over 6 million active youth today. Many people familiar with 4-H think it is all about agriculture, farming, and the fair, however, it is so much more! In fact, there are 1.8 million urban youth and 1.6 million suburban youth out of the total 6 million. 4-H provides curriculum not only for agriculture but for any STEAM based programming, whether that be robotics, computer science, engineering, photography, healthy living, urban gardening, and much more. We run many different types of programming in school, after school, year round, or short-term. We also focus on community development and family enrichment and engagement. But without volunteers, none of this programming would be possible. That is why we are looking to you for help to make all this possible.
