ORGANIZATION: Insight Housing

Thanksgiving Meal

We are looking for volunteers to help at our annual Holiday Meal!

This is a special, free meal that we serve restaurant-style to around 200 members of the community who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness.

We're asking volunteers to arrive at 2:30pm and stay until approximately 5:30pm to help with take down.

The Holiday Meal will be served at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1744 University Ave, Berkeley, 94703

Volunteer duties include:

  • Setting up tables
  • Plating food
  • Seating diners
  • Serving food to the diners at their tables
  • Bussing tables
  • Washing dishes
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • General cleanup and breakdown

The Hope Center is the flagship of Insight Housing and offers a wide range of housing and support for people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Our many volunteers offer their time, energy and talents to make our work possible.
