Vera's Open Arms Inc. overall mission provide temporary housing assistance to women and children that are homeless, on the verge of homeless and those who are affected by domestic violence and abuse. We are in need of volunteers who are willing to donated their time and efforts to assist with shelter care for those who are in need. We need assistance providing outreach & engagement services. Teams work together to assess our targets population and identify how to help from a range of solutions. We also are in need of intake clerks. The Coordinated Entry System (CES) streamlines the process of finding housing for women & their children and or individual women with goals of housing the most vulnerable people first. Volunteers opportunities varies & we do our best to match volunteers with a position that suits their interests and skills.

Mission Statement

The specific purpose of this Corporation is to provide an environment of safe refuge from domestic violence and abuse with the support systems of 24-hour crisis intervention, housing, education, counseling and information and referral services that empower communities to live free from domestic violence and abuse.

Description

The program will consist of a new residential safe haven for women and children who have been physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally abused. The vision for VOA with additional service will encompass child care, resources for employment and job skills development for all family members. In addition to our program, Vera's Open Arms is creating an enviroment that promotes recovery, personal responsibility and mutual self help. Vera's Open Arms programs is to better service the community at large along with our diversifed services of agency range to continue to grow.
