Community Based Mentoring : Volunteers are matched with a child to be that kiddo's mentor and friend. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the child two to four times each month. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and the match relationship, providing assistance, counsel and guidance.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and be able to pass an extensive background check. There is also an thorough interview portion within the enrollment process.

This is our traditional mentoring program for which Big Brothers Big Sisters is best and most known for.


Presently, Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak is in need of men to volunteer as positive role models (Big Brothers) to youthin the community of Colorado Springs. We consistently receive applications and referrals for kids seeking a Big Brother. Many of this boys do not have a father figure or a positive adult male in their life. Please consider volunteering to make a lasting impact on a child's life!

Being a Big Brother or Big Sister means being a special friend and role model to a child through a one-to-one caring and consistent relationship. Programs are flexible to accommodate a variety of schedules.
