Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in thousands of communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.

The Relay For Life event model was built on the foundation of being community-owned, volunteer driven,
and staff-coached. This model has helped raise billions of dollars over the years to support the
American Cancer Society’s mission and continues to be a key driver in helping raise funds to finish the
fight against cancer.

The Relay For Life of West Hartford is looking for new community members to join the Event Planning Committee and become involved in the fight against cancer.

Event Planning Committee Members are expected to:
* Attend committee meetings and event activities
* Correspond regularly with the American Cancer Society staff partner and other community volunteers
* Assist with the planning and implementation of the annual Relay For Life Event
* RECRUIT TEAMS, SPONSORS, COMMITTEE MEMBERS, and SURVIVORS for the event

**We have many different committee jobs such as: entertainment, sponsorship, team recruitment, etc. All volunteers are encouraged to pick a role that is interesting to them and caters to their skill sets.**
