Spanish-Speaking Volunteers:: Help translate during life-saving blood drives in St Joe

ORGANIZATION: Community Blood Center

Use your fluency in Spanish to help Community Blood Center save lives in the St Joe area and beyond! We are currently seeking volunteers who are fluent in Spanish to assist with translating/interpreting for our Spanish speaking donors at blood centers and mobile blood drives in NW MO/NE KS.

Interpreters will assist a donor throughout the entirety of the donation process and translate verbal information, as well as translate written documents into Spanish for the donor. Blood drive schedule vary and may take place on weekdays, evenings and/or weekends.

Training and orientation provided, A background check and interpretive skill assessment will be conducted. Minimum age: 16. Volunteers asked to commit to at least one shift/month or at least 12 volunteer hours over a minimum of six months of service. Flexible scheduling available.

At this time we have have temporarily suspended our volunteer force due to COVID-19. You may submit an application now, and when we have the all-clear to resume volunteer operations, we will contact you to schedule an interview, hopefully in June 2020.
