Position: Operations Intern
Schedule and Hours Requirements:
- 8 weeks during the months on June- August.
- 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday
- Compensation: $10.35/hr
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and Draft quarterly newsletter and press releases as necessary
- Assist with program planning and implementation
- Assist with volunteer management
- Assist with partner agency and volunteer training
- Assist with social media planning
- Monitor and engage UWSC social media and contribute to UWSC media
- Communicate with community partners to reinforce partnerships
- Assist in updating documents and filing system
- Solicit in-kind donations from local businesses
- Communicate with donors
- Identify possible grant opportunities that align with UWSC’s mission, goals, and objectives
- Complete data entry tasks
- Assist with planning fundraisers
- Maintain UWSC Little Free Library units
- Screen phone calls
- Assist with mailings and print production
Qualifications
- Applicants age18-24 years who are currently enrolled or expected to begin college or other institute of higher learning within 6 months may apply for this opportunity
- Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Communications, Marketing, Health and Human Services, Education, or Public Policy or a similar area of study.
- Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media.
- Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Applicants should be Self-motivated, detailed oriented, and organized
- Applicants should have reliable transportation as this position involves occasional local travel.
