Position: Operations Intern

Schedule and Hours Requirements:

• 8 weeks during the months on June- August.
• 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday
• Compensation: $10.35/hr

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Draft quarterly newsletter and press releases as necessary
• Assist with program planning and implementation
• Assist with volunteer management
• Assist with partner agency and volunteer training
• Assist with social media planning
• Monitor and engage UWSC social media and contribute to UWSC media
• Communicate with community partners to reinforce partnerships
• Assist in updating documents and filing system
• Solicit in-kind donations from local businesses
• Communicate with donors
• Identify possible grant opportunities that align with UWSC’s mission, goals, and objectives
• Complete data entry tasks
• Assist with planning fundraisers
• Maintain UWSC Little Free Library units
• Screen phone calls
• Assist with mailings and print production

Qualifications

• Applicants age18-24 years who are currently enrolled or expected to begin college or other institute of higher learning within 6 months may apply for this opportunity
• Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Communications, Marketing, Health and Human Services, Education, or Public Policy or a similar area of study.
• Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media.
• Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Applicants should be Self-motivated, detailed oriented, and organized
• Applicants should have reliable transportation as this position involves occasional local travel.
