HBCU Style (Majorette) Dance Coach


The Elite All-Stars is a new all-star band for the DMV region. We accept members from age 16 through adult in wind, percussion, color guard, and dance at an intermediate to advance level.

Elite All-Stars is seeking a dance coach that is capable of teaching dance team members in the HBCU (Majorette) style of dance from demonstration to verbal direction.

Duties
In addition to choreographing and teaching routines, the dance coach must monitor the progress of his or her team and vary instruction to meet the needs of individual members. The dance coach works as part of the instructional team for the all-star band and reports to the Band Director.

Requirements
A dance coach must have a strong background in the performing arts, including experience in HBCU style of dance whether at the high school level, college level or previous teaching experience.

Additionally, a dance coach needs to be limber and able to present and follow choreography. He or she must be able to relate to adult dancers and be willing to listen to dancers' and Band Director’s feedback.

Practices are on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm starting in January. Must be able to travel to Washington D.C., Prince George’s County, and Baltimore.

The Marching Elite (TME) was established exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes of strengthening the under-resourced communities in the state of Maryland using music and arts as a vehicle to create positive change in the communities and the lives of the participants of the program. TME focuses on the marching arts: instrumental wind instruments, marching percussion, dance/majorette, color guard, and media.
