Mission Statement

Daughters Of Daddies Incarcerated is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization serving fathers who have recently been reunited with their daughters due to incarceration. The mission of DODI is to combat the continuum of parental incarceration and connect fathers with their daughters by providing transitional housing, job placement and promote positive, healthy relationships.

Description

Daughters Of Daddies Incarcerated, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2017 in Detroit, Michigan by Christine McCoy. Working with young girls Christine recognized familiar traits in girls who didn't have a positive male figure in their lives. The disconnect from their fathers made a huge impact on them causing obvious challenges and obstacles. Christine has over 24 years of experience in parental incarceration so it immediately became important to her to not only create something she always wanted but to provide a way to connect daughters with their fathers. Providing transitional housing, eliminates the stress and anxiety of possible homelessness and re incarceration while strengthening and empowering families in the city of Detroit.
