Volunteering in Palliative Care is a positive contribution to seriously ill patients. Being a volunteer in Palliative Care is both a meaningful and rewarding experience.

Mission Statement
The Supportive and Palliative Care Services Team works with patients - and those important to them - in identifying treatment choices and goals for medical care based on their wishes and values, and documenting these. The goal is to improve quality of life for patients and their families.
Description
The Supportive and Palliative Care Services Team includes board-certified palliative care physicians, nurse practitioners, specially trained nurses, social workers and chaplains. The team works with a patient's other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. Supportive and palliative care is appropriate at any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided along with treatments meant to cure.
