We need people who want to serve the homeless to help us serve food for 100+ homeless men and women at the Winter Weather Shelter downtown. This year, the Northside Homeless Alliance (which we are a part of) has taken the responsibility of organizing all of the food for this shelter which opened November 15th and runs until March 15th. One of the things that we are trying to really do is change the culture of the shelter and the way food is served. In years past, men and women stood in long lines and had to eat their dinner on the ground. This year we have acquired tables and are having volunteers serve the men and women directly at tables. So far, the results have been staggering! People’s attitudes are changing, just because of how the food is served! We are working tirelessly to find groups to serve the meals, and have had pretty good success.
Our greatest need for volunteers on Monday, Friday, and Weekend nights from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm.

L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry is a Christian non-profit organization that ministers to the homeless and needy in Pittsburgh, PA. We recognize the saving grace that Jesus Christ has brought us, and seek to share that with the weakest and often most vulnerable population in our society: the homeless. We are determined to be Christ's hands and feet by meeting the homeless where they are, and restoring the dignity and self-worth that they have in Christ.
