Patient Companions you will emotionally support and comfort patients and their families through listening, being present and responding to their needs with compassion and care. Some of the duties and activities include:

• Visiting with patients and listening,
• Straightening up patients rooms to create a more warming environment,
• Allowing peace of mind to family members who wish to run errands, knowing you are there with their loved one
• And, providing companionship.

We are looking for volunteers with a desire to give the precious gift of companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their families.

Hospice volunteers provide companionship and a supportive presence to patients and their families. Volunteers can make visits in patients' homes and/or nursing facilities. Often, volunteers will read to patients, play music for patients, exchange stories with patients, or share a special skill or talent with patients. Our volunteers would not provide any medical care, but simply be available with an open mind and an open heart for someone ending their journey.

You will be provided extensive training and support in your service to others.
