Community Involvement Programs (CIP) offers a broad scope of programs that help the people we serve live their greatest lives. Our services promote wellness, safety and recovery for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and or mental health diagnoses. As part of its efforts, CIP will participate in the 2019 Minnesota Self Advocacy Conference in order to better champion the rights of people with disabilities.

Impact

Volunteers will play an important role providing support and helping event attendees as they have fun at event activities, develop social networks and learn self-advocacy skills.

Description

At the 2019 Minnesota Self Advocacy Conference at the Mystic Lake Center on Friday March 8 th and Saturday March 9 th there will be a variety of opportunities for volunteers to have fun and provide event support. Different volunteer activities at the event include distributing t-shirts, assisting at the photo booth, answering questions, iPad assistance and supporting people to express themselves through art. At the conference the availability of volunteer support activities may be dependent on need, capacity and demand and will be determined on a first come first serve basis. Mission Statement

As listeners, learners and leaders, we will stand with and support people with disabilities in their communities as they pursue their personal dreams and goals.

Description

We're here to help people cope with the issues surrounding social injustice, low income, aging, and homelessness -- and, in doing so, to help them live their greatest lives.

Since 1971, we've been meeting people where they are and bringing them what they need to live as independently, creatively, and fully as possible. We offer a variety of services and supports, which have all been developed as a result of listening to and understanding the needs of the people we serve, their loved ones and their communities.
