GLA volunteer tutors help adult students improve their reading, writing or math skills, prepare for the GED or WorkKeys tests.

Tutors may work one-on-one with an adult learner, or work with small groups students.

After observing classes and participating in an volunteer orientation/training workshop, tutors are matched with a student or a group.

Tutors work with students for 1 1/2 - 2 hours a week. (Classes are held Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm and Monday,Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm-8pm)

For one-on-one pairings, tutors and students discuss and select hours that are convienent for both of them.

Requirements & Commitment

  • Must be at least 18
  • 1 to 1.5 hours a week for 10-12 weeks
