GLA volunteer tutors help adult students improve their reading, writing or math skills, prepare for the GED or WorkKeys tests.
Tutors may work one-on-one with an adult learner, or work with small groups students.
After observing classes and participating in an volunteer orientation/training workshop, tutors are matched with a group or a student for 1-on-1 tutoring.
Tutors work with students for 1.5 hours a week. (Classes are held Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm and Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm-8pm)
We are currently looking for volunteers for our Spring Session April 16th-June 21st in the following areas:
Wednesdsay 9:00am-10:20pm GED Calculator Skills
Thursday 10:30am-12pm Job Skills
Tuesday 5:00pm-6:30pm math word problems
Tuesday 6:30pm-8pm math lab
Tuesday 6:30pm-8pm algebra/geometry
Morning and evening substitutes all subjects.
