GLA volunteer tutors help adult students improve their reading, writing or math skills, prepare for the GED or WorkKeys tests.

Tutors may work one-on-one with an adult learner, or work with small groups students.

After observing classes and participating in an volunteer orientation/training workshop, tutors are matched with a group or a student for 1-on-1 tutoring.

Tutors work with students for 1.5 hours a week. (Classes are held Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm and Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm-8pm)

We are currently looking for volunteers for our Winter Session January 16th-March 29th in the following areas:
Thursday morning reading class.
Tuesday and Thursday evening math and reading classes.
Morning and evening substitutes all subjects.

  • Must be at least 18
