Grow where you are planted!!! Peace of Heart Community (POHC) is a non-profit that was founded to create meaningful life opportunities for persons with autism. POHC has 3 primary outreaches: our residential group home for young adults with autism (Peace of Heart Home/ POHH), our community raised bed gardens program (Peace of Heart Farm/ POHF), and our art program (Peace of Heart Art/ POHA).
Peace of Heart Farm is a 2.5 acre organic garden and is in need of abled bodied people, who can work outdoor in various weather conditions. Volunteer opportunities in the raised bed garden vary from caring for animals, seeding, transplanting, trellising, harvesting, organizing, weeding, cleaning & all related activities for upkeep of our raised bed garden program. You will get a tour of our farm and our project manager will teach you and work with you on any/all projects. Please be aware you must wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty because you'll will eventually get dirt somewhere! Volunteer hours are flexible between the hours of 9-5 M-Sat. with advance notice to coordinate. Normal volunteering is in 2-3 hour shifts.
