At the Center / Architecture + Design, we believe every child should have access to design education. One of a handful of ways we do that is by hosting Design Workshops for Families featuring READ + MAKE (ideal for ages 5-8) and DESIGN + BUILD (ideal for ages 9-12).

READ + MAKE
Ideal for ages 9-12.
Discover Upcoming READ + MAKE Workshops

READ + MAKE is an exciting monthly program for you and your young children. Spend time together listening to a story and creating an art project. We’ll help your little ones explore the building blocks of architecture, design, and our city. We share a new story every month (more often during our annual Constructing Play exhibition), so you can come again and again to work with others and make something amazing.

LESSON PLANS: David Bender
TEACHERS: David Bender + Erike De Veyra

DESIGN + BUILD
Ideal for ages 9-12.

Discover Upcoming DESIGN + BUILD Workshops

Dive into the design process with our DESIGN + BUILD workshops. Have fun as you and your child learn about design, build a project from your imagination, and hone your creative problem-solving skills. We offer new workshops each month (more often during our Constructing Play exhibition), so you can come again and again to work with others and build something amazing!
